Ground Heat Pumps

Ground heat pumps have been used in other countries for many years, in Scandinavia they are commonly seen heating people's homes.
The principle of operation is very simple, in actual fact they use the ground's temperature 11-13 degrees to heat a stored water volume to about 40 degrees by a principle that is the reverse operation of a common fridge.
Ground heat pumps are designed for use with underfloor heating systems that can run at about 35- 40 degrees, higher temperatures are possible but the trade off is a lower
efficiency. At 35 degrees the heat pumps will give a COP(Co-efficient of performance) of about 4:1 this means 4 KW/H of energy out to 1 KW/H of energy in.
We work with leading name suppliers for ground, water and air heat source pumps. We will specify the required pump from your drawings and can provide the full solution from installation of the ground loops to the fitting of the underfoor heating.
